ENGLISH ACADEMY PROGRAMS
Learning English opens doors for the young people in our community by providing them with the skills needed for better-paying jobs and more opportunities. The Progreso Apoyo English Academy offers students the opportunity to learn and practice their English through one-on-one classes or group conversation classes.

To help kids succeed, we created the English Academy with two programs where our volunteers help students learn and converse in English:
ONE-ON-ONE ENGLISH
During the school year, a volunteer-coach works in-person or virtually to help a student improve their English. No teaching experience required! We provide the curriculum and teaching aids.

The students have chosen to dig in and learn English as a second language.
​
An hour each week during the school year is all it takes to help set a student up for success.
ENGLISH CONVERSATION CLASSES
During the first quarter of the year, volunteers meet with small groups 
of students at a local high school to help them get 
comfortable speaking English. Best of all, you already have the skills needed: speaking English!
It’s a fun and rewarding hour 
… and a perfect opportunity for Snowbirds to get involved.
